I am moving to Barcelona next year, and I am saving up for a deposit on a flat. I have been converting my money to euros to avoid spending it, but I am wondering if there is any bank or bank account where you can store foreign currencies. Also are there any accounts or banks which I can have in both Spain and the UK?
Thank you!!! xx
Yes I’m fluent in spanish haha
HBOS in the UK have branches in Spain and there are no charges to transfer money from the UK to Spain. They’ll help to set up your account in Spain for you as well.

I’m a US citizen with $50,000 in debt from college and graduate school. I’m moving to the UK next year, and I’m wondering if I should remain there for several years. Assuming I am able to draw comparable wages (relative to cost-of-living), will I reap a financial advantage by paying my USD loans in Pounds Sterling?
In theory that is a sound speculation, but you have to undertand that the cost of living is probably higher with a higher exchange rate. Here is a site to see the exchange rate http://www.gocurrency.com
